Accessibility & Fair Housing

Everyone deserves to find their way here — on this website, and through our front doors.

Website accessibility

Home Base Management Company wants this website to work for everyone, including people who use screen readers, keyboard navigation, or magnification, and family members of every age. We build toward the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA.

Practical things we do across the site:

  • Text and buttons meet AA color-contrast standards.
  • Every page can be navigated by keyboard, with visible focus indicators and a skip-to-content link.
  • Headings, landmarks, and labels are structured for assistive technology.
  • Images carry meaningful alternative text; decorative ones are hidden from screen readers.
  • Body text starts at a legible 16px+, with generous line spacing.
  • Animations respect your device's reduced-motion setting.

Accessibility is ongoing work, not a checkbox. Some third-party content — like an embedded video tour — is hosted on platforms whose players we don't fully control, and we choose those with accessibility in mind.

Found a barrier? Tell us.

If any part of this site is hard for you to use, we genuinely want to know. Email contact@thehbm.co or call (856) 280-9077 and tell us what happened and what device or assistive technology you were using. We'll work to fix it, and we're glad to share any information from this site in another format.

Fair Housing commitment

Home Base Management Company is an equal housing opportunity provider. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, national origin, sex, familial status, or disability — or any characteristic protected by the New Jersey Law Against Discrimination.

People in recovery are protected under the federal Fair Housing Act and the Americans with Disabilities Act. Recovery residences like ours are protected housing under federal law — and we operate with that responsibility in mind, in both letter and spirit.

Our homes are gender-specific — Scottie's Sanctuary is our women's home and Benson's Bayou is our men's home — operated consistent with applicable fair-housing law. Single-gender recovery residences are a recognized, lawful model that many people find essential to early recovery.

Reasonable accommodations

If you need a reasonable accommodation or modification in connection with applying for or living in one of our homes, reach out — email contact@thehbm.co or call (856) 280-9077. We'll have that conversation respectfully and promptly.

This statement was last reviewed in June 2026. Questions about it are always welcome at contact@thehbm.co.
